Ask us about shipping to your country
HDK_TeamHotDeals Korea teamSep 21, 2026#shipping #customs #questions
Shipping rules, prices and import taxes are different for every country, and they change. This is an open thread for questions about getting your Korean orders delivered where you live. Ask in the comments and our team will answer, and members who've shipped to the same country are welcome to share what they know too.
What to include in your question
The more we know, the more useful our answer can be. If you can, tell us:
- Your country, and your state or region if the rules differ there
- What you plan to ship, for example skincare, albums, clothes, snacks or electronics
- Roughly how much it's worth and how heavy it is, even if it's a guess
- What matters most: speed, price, or a balance of both
- Anything unusual, such as perfume, aerosol sprays, anything with a battery, food, or a question about tax IDs
Please don't post personal details here. Leave out your address, phone number, tax ID, and order or payment details. If your question is about a specific order, open a support ticket instead so we can look at your account.
What we can help with
- Which shipping methods are available for your country, and how they compare on price and delivery time
- Whether an item can go by post, needs a courier, or can't be shipped at all
- Roughly what import duties and taxes might apply
- Which paperwork your country needs, such as a tax ID on the customs form
- How to keep shipping costs down, for example by consolidating parcels or watching volumetric weight
What we can't promise
Customs in your country decides what you pay and what's allowed in. Our answers and the calculator are estimates based on published rules, and we can't guarantee how a customs office will treat a particular parcel. We also can't give legal or tax advice. For anything we're unsure about, we'll say so.
A few things that come up often
- United States: Korea Post services to the US have been suspended since 21 Jul 2026. You can ship by FedEx International (2–5 days) or HDK Economy USA (6–11 days). We prepay US duties at checkout at 12.5% and refund any difference once US Customs bills the actual amount. Food needs FDA prior notice. More in our US shipping update.
- European Union: since 1 Jul 2026, low-value parcels pay a flat €3 duty per item category, plus import VAT.
- United Kingdom: 20% VAT applies to all parcels.
- Mexico: courier parcels from Korea are charged about 33.5%.
- Brazil: taxes are high on parcels outside the Remessa Conforme program: 60% federal tax plus the state ICMS.
- Tax IDs: Brazil (CPF), Chile (RUT), Argentina (CUIT/CUIL), Mexico (RFC/CURP) and Kazakhstan (IIN) need the recipient's tax ID on the customs form. Taiwan uses EZ WAY real-name confirmation for cosmetics. Other countries may ask too.
- Australia and New Zealand: strict biosecurity rules apply to food, plants and wooden items.
All of these are estimates, and customs in your country decides. Before you ask, the FAQ, the prohibited items page and the calculator may already have your answer.
