Can you buy items that need a Korean ID?

If you collect K-pop goods, you'll probably run into this sooner or later, so here's a full answer. The short version: it depends on whether the item or event needs the buyer's own identity. If it does, we can't buy it for you, unless the event rules allow someone else to buy on your behalf. Either way, we'll tell you before charging anything.
What we can buy
Anything that anyone can buy with a regular store account. That covers many albums, official merch, lightsticks, photobooks, magazines and pre-orders from Korean stores. You send us the link, we check the price and stock, and you get a quote. Nothing is charged until you accept.
Some items have extra conditions that don't involve identity, like a per-customer limit or a pre-order window. If the conditions allow a purchase through us, we'll note them in the quote.
What we can't buy
Items that need the buyer's own identity. Some goods can only be bought by a specific person, and the store checks who that is. Common examples:
- Fan-club membership goods that are only sold to members, where the purchase is tied to the member's name or membership number
- Event wins that require ID, such as prizes or tickets where the winner must show identification to collect them
- Purchases that need identity verification in the buyer's name, such as a check through a Korean phone number registered to the buyer
We can't complete these on your behalf. The purchase or prize would be in our name, not yours, and the store or organiser could refuse it or cancel it.
We won't get around identity checks. We won't use someone else's name or ID, borrow a phone number, or create accounts that pretend to be you. That breaks store and event rules, and it can get entries cancelled or accounts banned.
Events and entries
Fansign entries, lucky draws and other events tied to album purchases each have their own rules. Before we quote, we read the event notice.
- If the rules allow someone else to buy for you, for example when a purchase is all that's needed and the prize is shipped rather than collected in person, we can place the order. We'll tell you what the rules say.
- If the rules say the winner must be the buyer, attend in person or show ID, we can't enter for you, and we'll tell you before charging anything.
- If the rules aren't clear, we'll say so, and you can decide whether to go ahead.
When reading event notices yourself, these Korean terms are worth looking for:
- 본인 확인 or 본인인증: identity verification of the person themselves
- 대리 수령 불가: collection by someone else isn't allowed
- 양도 불가: the entry or prize can't be transferred
Fan-club memberships
A fan-club membership itself is personal. If joining requires the member's own identity, we can't join on your behalf. Some fan clubs offer a global membership that fans outside Korea can sign up for directly, so check the official announcement for your artist.
What happens with your request
- You send us the link as usual.
- Before quoting, our staff check the listing and any event rules.
- If the item needs the buyer's own identity and the rules don't allow a proxy purchase, we'll tell you in the quote instead of charging you.
- If we only find out after you've paid, for example because the store asks for verification at checkout, we refund the item in full, including its share of the fees. Refunds usually take 5–10 days to appear.
Not sure? Ask first
If you're eyeing something with conditions attached, ask in the comments or open a support ticket with the link before you send a request. We'd rather say no up front than disappoint you later.
